Adding some Color to a Lingering Winter

This winter hasn’t been an unusually cold one, but it is proving to be persistent. After a few beautiful warm spring-like days early in March, temperatures plunged well below average, and a late winter/early spring snowstorm dumped almost a foot of snow in Montpelier (more in some areas). Between the increasingly intense March sun melting snow, and cold nights sometimes reaching the single digits, we’ve had some fairly impressive icicles form.

I was going to make a serious blog post, but the last two weeks have been incredibly hectic and stressful. As such, instead I just decided to dye some icicles pretty colors and post them.

I love winter, but as March drags on and the calendar and solstice indicate spring, I’m ready for some warmer weather! It will come, of course, but here in Vermont it can be slow in coming.
